Toronto Construction Workers Ratify First CLAC Collective Agreement with Clonard Group

TORONTO, ON—Employees of Clonard Group Inc., a construction contractor providing site maintenance and related services across the Greater Toronto Area, unanimously ratified a new collective agreement, securing wage increases, improved benefits, and new retirement supports.

The employees left their previous union to join Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52 in 2025.

The group, which includes labourers and carpenters, secured wage improvements, a clearer wage progression path, new premiums, and enhanced benefits coverage. The agreement also introduces participation in the CLAC Pension Plan, providing long-term retirement security for members.

“This group of workers had a frustrating couple years with their previous union,” says Robert Brink, CLAC representative. “With an excellent agreement in place, we’re looking forward to a more stable future with wages, a pension, and benefits that put these workers on a solid path.”

Clonard Group performs work on projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
