Tuesday, May 26, 2026 The Electricians Employees Unanimously Ratify New Contract Securing Wage, Benefits Improvements Local 6 Ratifications Construction BRANTFORD, ON—Employees of The Electricians, an electrical contractor based in Brantford, Ontario, unanimously ratified a three-year collective agreement providing strong wage increases and enhanced benefits. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 6. The union has represented the company’s employees since 2017. The group, which includes electricians and electrical apprentices, secured journeyperson base rate wage increases of 16.74 percent over the term, along with an additional two percent vacation pay for employees with 10 or more years of service. The agreement also includes improvements to benefits, with vision coverage increasing to $600 every 24 months. Additional improvements include an increase to the tool and boot allowance to $450 per year and enhanced premium provisions, including evening service work now paid at double time, up from time and a half. “CLAC and The Electricians have ratified a new collective agreement delivering the most significant base rate wage improvements since joining the union, along with enhanced benefits,” says Drew Lyons, representative. “The agreement also recognizes experience through increased vacation entitlements and strengthened vision care support.” The Electricians provides residential and commercial electrical services, with employees working on projects in the Brantford area.
