Tuesday, September 21, 2021 Thank You, Healthcare Heroes! A series of thank-you gifts to healthcare members earlier this year showed them how much their communities—and CLAC—care Guide Magazine Earlier this year, CLAC representatives delivered a series of thank-you gifts to the union’s devoted long term care workers across Ontario. Some members were gifted small appliances for their break rooms while others received individual gifts, such as touchscreen gloves. Others were provided Muskoka chairs or picnic tables for staff to use at lunch and during breaks. “While many Canadians were able to work from home during the pandemic, these heroes went to work every day,” says Ruth Ann Ferguson, representative. “Some facilities were in such bad outbreaks that members stayed in hotels away from their families for six to eight weeks. “They feared for themselves, their families, and their residents. Yet they still went to work. I am very proud to represent our members.” To all these healthcare workers, and to all others across the nation, we thank you for your efforts to keep residents and staff safe, happy, and healthy throughout the pandemic!
