Thursday, May 29, 2025 Sureway Employees Unanimously Ratify New Contract Local 63 Ratifications Construction EDMONTON—Local 63 members employed by Sureway Industrial Services Ltd. voted unanimously in favour of ratifying a three-year collective agreement providing them with wage increases and other improvements. The new contract provides members with a significant wage increase in year one, effective March 2, 2025. The new base wage rate will match industrial construction rates for pipefitter and B welders to an even $50 per hour, followed by a 4 percent increase in year 2 and 3.8 percent in year 3. Other improvements include a boot allowance of up to $200 for every 1,500 hours worked to a maximum of $400 every two years. A new $3 per hour welding and stainless steel grinding premium was also negotiated as well as a $5 per hour premium when using the Sureway rig outside of the fabrication shop and yard.
