Supporting Youth Wellness

Local 303 steward and board member Leigh Ann Ulch joined representative Mary Ellen Alward to deliver over 130 fidget toys and cash donations to the Chatham-Kent Youth Wellness Hub. The local board made the decision to support youth mental health initiatives this year as many members and their families are impacted by mental health issues.

“Our youth are the ones who will be supporting us, working in our hospitals, nursing and retirement homes, and in the skilled trades,” says Leigh-Ann, who works at Meadow Park Nursing home in Chatham. “We want to help them to be their best selves and help them deal with things that are impacting them now.”
