Friday, October 9, 2020 Substantial Wage and Pension Increases for Dependable Mechanical Systems Employees Locals Local 52 Ratifications Sectors Construction Concord, ON—Journeyperson and apprentice sheet metal mechanics employed by Dependable Mechanical Systems Inc. unanimously ratified a renewed collective agreement providing them with substantial wage and pension increases totalling over 11.2 percent. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52. The union has represented them since 2017, and this is the second contract negotiated for them. Wages will increase substantially each year of the three-year term of the contract, and employer contributions to the pension plan will nearly double to 10 percent in the third year. The agreement also includes improved travel provisions, increased annual boot allowance, and improved shift, foreperson, and lead-hand premiums. “The union bargaining committee pushed hard for these big improvements,“ says Robert Brink, CLAC representative. “We believe this agreement will work great for everyone. Our members move forward significantly on wages and pension, and their employer is better positioned to attract and retain increasingly scarce sheet metal mechanics in the GTA.” You might be interested in Why We Work Safely 5 Jun 2026 Standing Your Ground, and Staying Steady on the Job 4 Jun 2026 CLAC Partners with Alberta Government to Advance Skilled Trades Training and Accelerate Certification 4 Jun 2026 Strathcona Mechanical Workers Ratify New Agreement Providing Wage, Scheduling Improvements 3 Jun 2026
