Strong Wage Increases for Glenile Services Employees with New Contract

Woodstock, ON—Employees of Glenile Services, an electrical contractor based in Woodstock, Ontario, unanimously ratified a three-year collective agreement providing them with strong wage increases and other improvements.

The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 53. The union has represented the company’s employees since 2011.

Negotiations for the new contract focused heavily on improving hourly wage rates. Licensed electricians will see total package compensation improvement of $8.46 per hour over the three-year term. The settlement also provides improvements to contributions to healthcare benefits, travel compensation, and living-out allowances. Significant is an increase of $1.50 per hour to employees’ pension plans over the term of the agreement.

“CLAC Local 53 is pleased to deliver this strong settlement,” says Roger Grootenboer, CLAC representative. “The terms provide security and compensation for our members—excellent wages, strong healthcare benefits, and a solid retirement in a pension plan they can trust.”
