Strong Majority of Golderado Contracting Employees Vote in Favour of New Agreement

Fort Saskatchewan—Employees of Golderado Contracting Corp. ratified a new collective agreement providing them with a wage increase while maintaining their benefits coverage. The contract was ratified by a strong majority, with 89 percent of employees voting in favour.

The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 63. The union has represented the employees since June 2010.

The two-year contract provides employees with a 0.5 percent wage increase. Employer premiums for the benefits package were also increased to maintain coverage. Employer contributions to retirement savings remain unchanged.

The 100 employees work as operators, labourers, carpenters, and truck drivers. Recent work includes on the Edmonton LRT and the Scotford Refinery.
