Strong Gains for Parkview Manor Employees

Approximately 45 staff at Parkview Manor have ratified a new collective agreement. The contract was negotiated by Health Care and Service Workers Union, CLAC Local 304.  

The two-year agreement includes wage increases of 1.4 percent per year plus special adjustments. Further increases include benefits, vacation, and sick plan improvements as well as increases to some of the premiums. 

“We had to work hard to get this agreement, but in the end we are happy with the improvements we’ve made,” says Paula Swartz, bargaining committee member. “Working in long term care is very challenging, so it was important to make some progress in our agreement.”
