Friday, April 28, 2023 Strong Agreement for UrbanLink Civil Employees Unanimously Ratified Locals Local 6 Ratifications Sectors Construction Beamsville, ON—Employees of UrbanLink Civil Ltd. unanimously ratified a three-year collective agreement providing them with significant wage gains and other improvements. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 6. The union has represented them since 2020. The new contract provides employees with a 12 percent wage increase over the term. In addition, employer contributions to employees’ pension plan increase by two percent. Vacation pay also increases depending on years of service, and the yearly tool allowance was increased. “The union bargaining committee did an excellent job of identifying members’ needs and achieving them in negotiations,” says Darren Schutten, CLAC representative. “The strong agreement also helps the employer to attract and retain workers in a tight labour market.” UrbanLink Civil Ltd. is a heavy civil contractor employing up to 70 labourers and operators.
