Thursday, May 11, 2023 Strathcona Mechanical Employees Vote Overwhelmingly in Favour of New Contract Locals Local 63 Ratifications Sectors Construction Leduc, AB—Local 63 members employed by Strathcona Mechanical Limited, based in Leduc, Alberta, voted 95 percent in favour of ratifying a one-year collective agreement. The new contract provides the 30 members with a 4.5 percent wage increase effective June 1, 2023. “We feel we concluded and ratified a great settlement that benefits both the membership and the company,” says Randy Klassen, Calgary Member Centre regional director. “The wages represent the high end of commercial construction work in southern Alberta, and we are hopeful the company can continue to secure work moving forward.” Strathcona Mechanical is a local mechanical company currently performing work at two projects in Calgary. Local 63 has represented the company’s employees since 1997.
