Saturday, September 20, 2025 Steward Spotlight – Harpreet Khosa Cash office admin clerk, Save-On-Foods, steward and bargaining committee member Manitoba Local 306 As a steward, I believe my role is about managing responsibilities on behalf of others, not for personal gain, but to support and guide. It’s about leading with wisdom, not just authority. One of the most fulfilling parts of being a steward is solving problems and standing up for those who feel unheard. I aim to represent the concerns of others and make sure their voices are acknowledged. That said, one of the most challenging aspects is being caught in the middle between management and employees. At times, it can feel like I’m unable to fully satisfy either side. It’s especially discouraging when people don’t see the effort we put in behind the scenes to support them. Still, I accept that I am a steward and with that comes both responsibility and learning. Despite the challenges, this role has taught me valuable life lessons that I truly cherish.
