Thursday, October 7, 2021 Solid Wage Gains for Royal Ready Construction Employees Locals Local 52 Ratifications Oakville, ON—Employees of Royal Ready Construction Ltd., based in Oakville, voted 85 percent in favour of ratifying a new collective agreement providing them with solid wage gains and improvements to their retirement contributions. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52. The union has represented the employees since 2006. The three-year contract provides employees with a three percent wage increase in each year of the agreement. In addition, all employees will now receive 10 percent contributions to their pension plan, while those with 15 years of service or more will continue to receive 12 percent. “The negotiation process took some time,” says Joshua Vanderlaan, CLAC representative. “But the bargaining committee worked hard to create a new agreement that would work for the members, as evidenced by the high percentage of employees voting in favour of the contract.” The 24 employees of Royal Ready Construction install curbs and sidewalks throughout the Mississauga and Oakville areas.
