Solid Increases for Service Workers at Village on the Thames

Chatham-Kent, ON—Service workers at Village on the Thames Retirement Residence have voted 89 percent in favour of a new three-year collective agreement.

The contract was negotiated by Southwestern Ontario Health Care and Service Workers Union, CLAC Local 303.

Highlights of the agreement include two percent wage increases for each year of the contract, a $75 signing bonus, an increase in benefits, and an increase to the in-lieu of premium.

“Bargaining this spring was a challenging process,” says Kate do Forno, CLAC representative. “The negotiating committee put in hard work and together we were able to create increases and additional benefits for the members.”
