Thursday, June 4, 2020 Significant Wage Increases for WB Melback Employees Locals Local 52 Ratifications Sectors Construction New Liskeard, ON—Employees of WB Melback Corporation, based in New Liskeard, unanimously ratified a three-year collective agreement providing them with significant wage increases and other improvements. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52. The union has represented the employees since 2014. The new contract provides employees with a 10 percent retroactive wage increase to all tradespersons, with a wage review in the third year of the agreement. “This renewal provides important improvements for our members both financially and otherwise,” says Matt Walchuk, CLAC representative. WB Melback employs 30 carpenters, millwrights, ironworkers, labourers, and welders. The company provides project management and general contractor services to the mining, forestry, and energy sectors across Canada and specializes in turnaround maintenance services. Recent work includes at the Georgia Pacific project in Englehart, Ontario.
