Monday, July 15, 2019 Significant Gains for NAC Employees with New Contract Locals Local 152 Ratifications Sectors Construction Winnipeg—Employees of North America Construction (1993) Ltd. voted strongly in favour of a new three-year collective agreement providing them with significant gains in wages and other improvements. The 100 employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 152. The local has represented the employees since 2008. The new contract includes solid wage increases in each year of the agreement. Improvements were also made to the annual work wear allowance, benefits, and retirement contributions. A new dual ticket premium was included for members certified in more than one trade. “This is an excellent agreement negotiated by the union bargaining committee with the employer,” says Nathan Koslowsky, CLAC representative. “It provides for the needs of our members while allowing the company to remain competitive.” The employees work in the civil, mechanical, and electrical trades and are currently building the South End Water Pollution Control Centre in Winnipeg.
