Wednesday, August 23, 2017 Seasons of Change Newsletters By By Phil Polsom, CLAC Saskatoon Regional Director The summer is coming to an end and fall will soon be upon us. How quickly the seasons seem to change. Living in Saskatchewan, we experience the change of seasons in special ways. Fall is a time where the leaves explode in colour and the crops turn from green to brown—readying for harvest. The days get shorter and the evenings start to feel a little crisper. The hustle and hurry of the summer changes as parents and kids get into the routine of the new school year. Life seems to take on a different pace. But what about the seasons of change within your life? We all experience seasons in our lives, but do we really appreciate what that means to us? Kids are growing up, our work lives are always changing, and friends come and go. The list goes on. How we deal with these changes, whether good or bad, is as important as the changes themselves. We can allow ourselves to get dragged down by the negative changes in our lives and forget the positive changes, or we can choose to use each change as an opportunity for personal growth. Socrates said, “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” Each season of change is an opportunity for us to grow. Take the time to focus on the important things in your life and look for ways to make them even better. When those negative events or thoughts try to bring you down, turn them into learning opportunities and find the good. At CLAC we are proud to go through the changing seasons alongside you. Whether it’s building better workplace communities or assisting you with your growth in your chosen career, we are here to support you through the changing seasons.
