SDF Supports CLAC Construction Bootcamp Program

CLAC congratulates the Ontario government for its continuing investment in the Skills Development Fund (SDF)

The government committed $750,000 in 2024 to support CLAC’s innovative Construction Bootcamp program, which introduces participants to the construction industry. Through SDF’s sponsorship, CLAC and its partners are working to solve the skills gap and worker shortage in the construction sector, which is essential to a growing and prosperous province.

The program has been wildly successful. In the first two years, CLAC ran 18 cohorts, trained 156 students, and had 68 contractors participate. Bootcamp program partners included Conestoga College, Hamilton District Christian High School, Ledcor Construction, Rainey River First Nations, Town of Shelburne, Walpole Island First Nations, and Wellington County.
