Friday, November 3, 2023 Scott Construction Employees Secure Annual Wage Increases with New Contract Locals Local 68 Ratifications Sectors Construction Vancouver—Local 68 members employed by Scott Construction (2005) Ltd. unanimously ratified a three-year collective agreement providing them with annual wage increases and other improvements. The local has represented Scott Construction employees since 2009. The new contract provides members with an immediate six percent wage increase followed by three percent annual increases over the remainder of the term. In addition, various premiums were increased by 40 percent, the gear allowance was increased by $100 per year, mileage amounts were increased, and paid parking provisions were added to the agreement. “Our members and Scott Construction have an excellent cooperative relationship, which was only enhanced by this set of negotiations,” says Rob Schmidt, representative. “They really treat our members well.” Scott Construction is a general contractor in the industrial, commercial, and institutional sector. The company currently employs 20 Local 68 labourers, carpenters, construction safety officers, and other allied classifications and will be expanding considerably next year.
