Scholarship Winners!

Four Local 56 members each won a $1,500 CLAC scholarship for the 2019-2020 academic year and four won for 2020-2021.

2019-2020 Winners

Gurneet Dhaliwal is in the Accounting program at the University of Calgary. He is employed by Garda Security Screening Inc.

Shyanne Dougherty is studying for her bachelor of science degree at Acadia University. Her father, Luther Dougherty, is employed by Garda Security Screening Inc.

Carter Doerksen is in the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba. He is employed by Ledcor Maintenance Services Ltd.

Kasandra Magyar is studying for her bachelor of arts degree at the University of Alberta. Her father, Allen Magyar, is employed by OEM Remanufacturing Company Inc.

2020-2021 Winners

Gurneet Baidwan is studying for his bachelor of arts degree at King’s University. His mother, Mohinder Kaur Baidwan, is employed by Maple Leaf Poultry.

Céline Guse is studying accounting and strategic measurement at MacEwan University. Her father, Viktor Guse, is employed by OEM Remanufacturing Company Inc.

Kala McTiernan is pursuing her business administration diploma at Algonquin College. Her spouse, Rodney McTiernan, is employed by Ledcor Maintenance Services Ltd.

Steven Sheppard is studying education at the University of Calgary. He is employed by Garda Security Screening Inc.
