Monday, March 6, 2023 Save-On-Foods Employees Ratify New Contract by Wide Margin Locals Local 306 Ratifications Sectors Retail Winnipeg—Local 306 members employed by Save-On-Foods voted 82 percent in favour of a new three-year collective agreement providing them with wage increases along with other improvements. Members saw significant gains in starting wages, a new night-shift premium, increases to paid sick bank, the Day for Truth and Reconciliation as a statutory holiday, and lump sum payments for most long term employees. “This was a very difficult time in which to negotiate, given the current climate of inflation,” says Geoff Dueck Thiessen, regional director of the Winnipeg Member Centre. Despite this, we were able to negotiate improvements both to the wage package and to nonmonetary items, which are going to make a positive difference for team members working at Save-On-Foods. And we will be back to the bargaining table to keep building on this progress in less than three years, which in the grocery world isn’t very long.” You might be interested in Why We Work Safely 5 Jun 2026 Standing Your Ground, and Staying Steady on the Job 4 Jun 2026 CLAC Partners with Alberta Government to Advance Skilled Trades Training and Accelerate Certification 4 Jun 2026 Strathcona Mechanical Workers Ratify New Agreement Providing Wage, Scheduling Improvements 3 Jun 2026
