Thursday, November 30, 2023 Rozen Steelworks Employees Secure Wage and Other Improvements with New Contract Locals Local 63 Acheson, AB—Employees of Rozen Steelworks Inc. ratified a two-year collective agreement, with 88 percent voting in favour. The approximately 40 employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 63. The union was certified by the Alberta Labour Relations Board to represent the employees in November 2021. This is the group’s second collective agreement negotiated by their union. The new contract provides employees with a five percent wage increase, which will help offset the rising cost of living. Other improvements include enhanced responsibilities and experience premiums, a $300 personal protective equipment annual allowance, and improved contract language in several key articles and wage schedule notes. Rozen Steelworks is a fabrication shop located in Acheson that specializes in both pipe and structural fabrication serving some of the biggest oil and gas producers in the country, particularly in the oilsands.
