Saturday, March 4, 2023 Rolling Truck Age Program Rolled Back—For Now Local 66 members face potential layoffs down the road Locals Local 66 Newsletters BC Transportation Twelve Local 66 members employed by Indian River Transport Ltd. were facing layoffs due to the rolling truck age program that was to be implemented by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority on April 3rd. The federal program requires drivers to replace their 2006 and older trucks with 2016 or newer models. Drivers who do not replace their older trucks with newer models will be prohibited from port property. With much pushback from the truck drivers and some local MPs, the program has been pushed back for a minimum of nine months.
