Friday, November 3, 2023 Rock Electric Employees Unanimously Ratify Three-Year Agreement Locals Local 52 Ratifications Sectors Construction Etobicoke, ON—The 30 electricians and apprentices employed by Rock Electric Inc. unanimously ratified a renewed three-year collective agreement. The employees are represented by Local 52, which was certified to represent them by the Ontario Labour Relations Board in October 2017. Journeyperson wages will immediately increase by $5.25 per hour, with additional increases scheduled in years two and three. In addition, travel compensation and reimbursement were improved, the boot and tool allowances increased, vision coverage improved, and a paid parental leave introduced. “The members at Rock needed big increases to their compensation,” says Robert Brink, representative. “Their employer knew this and came to the bargaining table willing to achieve a good settlement that works for all. “The union bargaining committee worked hard on this settlement. In addition to the increases, they were able to secure an excellent additional feature: earlier wage increases that over the term will mean thousands more into the pockets of members. With the cost of life today, that was an additional big win.” You might be interested in Workplace Lessons We Can Learn from Chess 16 May 2025 RVilla Caledonia Retirement Living Employees Unanimously Ratify New Contract 15 May 2025 Using Technology to Further the Cause of Progressive Trade Unionism 15 May 2025 Haebler Construction Employees Unanimously Ratify New Collective Agreement 14 May 2025
