Local 52 members voted unanimously to ratify a new 3-year agreement. It provides 2% wage increases in the first and second year and 1% wage and 1% pension increases in the third year. Members also received increases to benefits (5¢/hr) and clothing/boot allowances. Dominion Construction Local 52 members employed by this Sudbury-based contractor ratified their first collective agreement. The 3-year contract provides a benefits plan to cover all employees and their families, enrolment in the CLAC Pension Plan, as well as overtime provisions. JAC Mechanical Inc. Local 52 members employed by JAC in Sudbury have ratified their first contract. The 3-year agreement includes a pension plan with a 4% employer contribution that will increase to 5% in year 3. Other highlights include a benefits package, vacation pay of 6%, and wage increases of 1.5%/year. KS Zys Local 53 members employed by this concrete-forming contractor based out of Wardsville unanimously approved a renewal of their collective agreement. It provides increases to the monetary package including wages, pension contributions, travel provisions, and employer-paid health benefits funding. Mueller-Hein and Associates Ltd. CLAC members ratified a 3-year agreement that provides a 2% wage increase each year, 0.5% pension increases in year 1 and year 3, and improved overtime language. P.H.E. Contractor Sales Ltd. The 33 Local 52 members employed by this Brampton-based electrical contractor ratified their first agreement. The 3-year contract provides employer-paid health and welfare benefits, employer-paid pension, significant wage increases, and employer contributions to CLAC’s Education and Assistance Fund. Poirier Electric Ltd. These Local 53 electrical journeypersons and apprentices in Windsor ratified a renewed 3-year contract. It provides total wage package increases of nearly $3/hour for most journeypersons. Also included are improvements to employer pension contributions, health and welfare benefits, tool and boot allowance, as well as policy change and pay improvements for on-call work. Vision Contractors Ltd. CLAC members ratified a 3-year agreement that provides improved overtime language, a 2% wage increase each year, and 0.5% pension increases in year 1 and year 3. Wallwin Electric Services Limited Local 52 members employed by Wallwin in the Barrie area ratified a 3-year contract that includes combined increases of 8.5% in wages and employer contributions to the pension plan, additional coverage in vision care and the extended healthcare plan, improved travel provisions, the introduction of shift change pay, and paid time for attending training.
