Ratifications

Aecon Construction Solutions Inc.

Members of this Langley-based contractor ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with 3% annual wage increases over the term. In addition, members received a 2% increase to employer-paid retirement contributions (1% employer contributions and 1% employer matched), with further 1% employer contributions in 2024 and 2025. The agreement also provides increases to statutory holiday pay and increased funding and improvements to the benefits plan, including a reduced waiting period for short term disability. Sick leave provisions were also improved.

Drillwell Enterprises Ltd.

Members employed by this contractor based in Logan Lake unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with wage increases of 5% in the first year followed by a 3% increase in year 2 and 2.5% in year 3. In addition, pay in lieu of holidays increases to 10 hours from 8, and the safety clothing allowance increases to $400 annually from $300.

GML Mechanical Ltd.

Members employed by this Delta-based contractor ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with a $5/hr. wage increase to the journeyperson rate in the first year along with 4% annual increases to all classifications in years 2 and 3. Increases to the pension plan were also achieved as well as improved vacation pay and parking premium.

Scott Construction (2005) Ltd.

Members employed by this Vancouver-based contractor unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with an immediate 6% wage increase followed by 3% annual increases over the remainder of the term. In addition, various premiums were increased by 40%, the gear allowance was increased by $100 per year, mileage amounts were increased, and paid parking provisions were added to the agreement.

Westgreen Contracting Ltd.

Members employed by this Abbotsford-based contractor ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with 16% wage increases over the term. In addition, $3/hr. matching RSP contributions is available for those who have worked 10,000 hours with the company. Other improvements include $1/hr. premium for stewards who complete the union’s Toolbox 2 steward training program and a switch from hour bank to direct pay for employees’ health benefits plan.
