Sunday, September 1, 2024 Ratifications Newsletters Ontario Healthcare Centennial Park Place Local 304 members employed at this retirement home in Etobicoke unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them a 3.5% increase for all classifications effective April 15, 2023; a 3.5% increase for all classification effective April 15, 2024; a 50¢/hr. special adjustment for all resident attendants effective September 9, 2024; followed by a 3% increase for RPNs, UCPs, and cooks; and a 3.5% increase for housekeeping, laundry, dietary, and resident attendant staff. Other improvements include an increase in employer contributions to members’ pension plan from 1 to 3%, increased vision care coverage, and $30,000 life insurance coverage for full-time employees. Members past the age of 70 will receive 30¢/hr. in lieu of life insurance enrolment. IOOF Seniors Home Inc. Local 304 members at this home in Barrie ratified a 2-year agreement providing them with 3.25% annual wage increases for all classifications. In addition, it includes special adjustments of $2/hr. for RPNs and special adjustments for most other classifications. Improvements were made to vision and dental benefits with a special provision for mental health paramedical coverage. Oakville Retirement Residences Local 304 members at this home in Oakville have a new 2-year agreement following an arbitration award. The contract includes many improvements including 3.5% annual wage increases, increases in the night-shift and weekend premiums, and an additional 2 sick days for full-time employees. VON Canada (Chatham-Kent) Local 303 members unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with a 7% wage increase in year 1 and a 3% increase in year 2. In addition, a new daily overtime trigger for full-time staff was negotiated as well as improved statutory holiday scheduling language. VON Canada (London) Local 303 members ratified a 2-year agreement providing them with 3% wage increases as of April 1, 2023, and April 1, 2024. The $3/hr. permanent wage enhancement will be incorporated into the wage schedule prior to the 3% wage increase on April 1, 2023. Members will also receive a 3% lump sum retroactive payment. In addition, the contract includes 20¢/hr. increases to the weekend and night-shift premiums and a new $20/hr. on-call standby premium. Members will also see improvements to mileage compensation.
