Local 52 members employed by this Oakwood-based electrical contractor unanimously ratified their first collective agreement. The 3-year contract provides them with significant wage increases across all categories, improvements to travel, and access to the union’s training and apprentice support systems.

Chandos Construction Ltd.

Local 52 members employed by this Mississauga-based contractor unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with a total wage and benefits package increase of up to 13.6% over the term, along with several improvements to allowances and benefits. These include a lump-sum boot allowance of $375 per year, increased travel allowance to the Canada Revenue Agency maximum per kilometre rate, and improved vision-care coverage.

Industrial Floor Systems Corp.

Local 52 members employed by this Barrie based flooring contractor unanimously ratified a 3 year agreement providing a 12.5% total package increase over the term. The settlement includes wage increases, a 2% boost to employer retirement savings contributions, and a shortened waiting period for enrolment. Other improvements include a $50 increase to the boot allowance and increases to shift premiums and the daily out of town allowance

Johnson Electric Inc.

Local 53 members employed by this London based electrical contractor unanimously ratified a 3 year agreement providing strong wage gains, with journeypersons receiving annual increases of $2/hr. and total package improvements of $8.42/hr.—a 15% increase over the term. The settlement also enhances employer contributions to healthcare benefits, travel compensation, pension contributions, mileage reimbursement, and living out allowances.

Kent Erie Glass & Lock Inc.

Local 53 members employed by this Chatham based contractor ratified a 3 year collective agreement providing a 13.4% wage increase over the term and an improved foreperson premium. The settlement also introduces paid personal days while maintaining existing retirement and benefits provisions for stability and consistency.

Made Electric Inc.

Local 52 members employed by this Toronto based electrical contractor unanimously ratified a 3 year collective agreement providing a 12.5% total package improvement over the term. The settlement delivers meaningful gains and long term stability for electricians and apprentices working across the Greater Toronto Area, setting a strong foundation for continued growth as the company expands its workforce.

Parr Mechanical Plumbing & Heating Inc.

Local 53 members employed by this Stratford-based mechanical contractor ratified their first agreement. The 3-year contract provides journeypersons with an immediate wage increase from $40 to $44.50/hr., followed by 2.5% and 3% increases in years 2 and 3. Members will participate in the CLAC Pension Plan with employer contributions rising from 4 to 6% and will transition to CLAC’s benefits plan featuring improved life, dental, vision, and paramedical coverage. The agreement also introduces tool and boot allowances, paid sick days that grow with service, and premiums for licensed gas fitters and new responsibility roles.

Ridgeline Electric Inc.  

Local 52 members employed by this Woodbridge-base electrical contractor ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with a total wage increase of $5/hr. The contract maintains the retirement contribution at 10% and raises the foreperson premium to 7.5%.

Rumble Electric Co. Ltd.

Local 52 members employed by this Etobicoke-based electrical contractor ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with an 8% increase to hourly wages plus improved benefits coverage, travel amounts, and employer pension contributions.

Twiss Electric Ltd.

Local 52 members employed by this Burlington based electrical contractor ratified a 3 year agreement providing wage increases totalling over 9% plus an additional 1% in employer paid pension contributions. Members also secured a $150 increase to their boot and tool allowance, bringing the total monetary improvement to more than 9.5% over the term. The agreement delivers strong wage gains and addresses multiple priorities identified by members across GTA job sites.

Young Electrical Services Ltd.

Local 53 members employed by this Essex based electrical contractor unanimously ratified a 3 year agreement providing an 18.5% wage increase and a 14.75% increase in employer pension contributions over the term. The settlement also adds two paid sick days, increased life insurance, and $40 per month toward personal cellphone costs. All Saturday work will now qualify for overtime, and forepersons will receive mandatory supervisory training.
