Bear Creek Terrace Local 303 RNs at this long term care home in Petrolia unanimously ratified a 2-year agreement providing them with increases to wages and paramedical coverage, including improvements to mental health coverage. It also includes accommodations for spiritual and cultural observances, in-service payment improvements, and bereavement improvements. Haldimand War Memorial Hospital Local 305 members employed as service workers at this Dunnville hospital ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with 3% annual wage increases plus several special adjustments to various occupations: $2/hr. for ward clerk and admitting clerks; $1/hr. for IPU and ER clerks, PSWs, RPNs, and electricians; and $0.50/hr. for physiotherapy assistants. The ward clerk top rate goes from $26.67 to $31.33/hr. by 2027—a 17.5% increase. The top rate for RPNs goes from $37.07 to $41.60/hr.—a 12.2% increase. In addition, several improvements were made to employees’ benefits plan, including the introduction of a basic health spending account. The new agreement also provides increases to the evening shift premium, from $1.31 to $2.26/hr., and the night-shift premium, from $1.31 to $2.98/hr. Hampton Court Retirement Lodge Local 304 members at this retirement home in Southhampton ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with 3.5% annual wage increases. In addition, employer contributions to employees’ retirement savings increase to 4%. Other improvements include increases to the life insurance payout, night-shift and weekend premiums, and unregulated care providers’ hourly wage. Maple Park Nursing Home Local 303 RNs employed by this Chatham facility unanimously ratified a 2-year agreement providing them with wages aligned with those provided in ONA’s master wage schedule, including parity with allowances and premiums. The contract also provides improvements to contract language regarding part-time shift giveaways. Oaks Retirement Village Inc. Local 303 members at this Wallaceburg retirement home unanimously ratified 3-year agreement providing them with 3.5% annual wage increases over the term and increases to the pension plan, sick days, shift premiums, and in-lieu-of-benefits premium. Improvements were also made to the vacation grid, new shift giveaway language, and improved call-out language. RVilla Caledonia Retirement Living Local 305 members employed at this retirement home in Caledonia unanimously ratified a 2-year agreement providing them with 3.5% annual wage increases, with a guaranteed floor of $0.25/hr. above minimum wage. The agreement represents an average total increase of 7.64% over the term. Other improvements include an increase to the employer-paid premium for members’ extended healthcare benefits plan from 50 to 85% and increases to vision-care coverage from $300 to $325, the dental coverage maximum amount from $1,500 to $1,600, and the in-lieu-of-benefits amount from 2.5 to 3%. In addition, the weekend premium increases from $0.20 to $0.25/hr. Tabor Manor Local 302 members employed at this long term care home in St. Catharines ratified a 2-year agreement that brings wages for all classifications at or above industry standard, with increases ranging from 6 to 10.5%. This result comes following a new wage grid for registered staff wages that is above hospital rates. Other improvements include an increase to the uniform allowance and an increase to vision-care coverage to $375 every 2 years.
