Local 53 members employed by this electrical contractor based in Cottam ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with a 19% wage increase over the term. Other improvements include an increase to vision-care and life insurance coverage, a 15% increase to the foreperson two rate, and increases to the tool allowance and travel pay.

Ayat Contracting Inc.

Local 52 members employed by Mississauga -based Ayat Contracting Inc. unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with total wage increases of $9.50/hr. or 18.3% over the term. The settlement also provides increased pension contributions, an improved healthcare benefits plan, increased out-of-town allowances and travel provisions, and improved funding for employee workwear.

Local 6 members employed by this Hamilton-based HVAC contractor ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with 8.5% - 11% wage increases depending on classifications.

Caron Equipment Inc.

Local 52 members employed by this contractor based in Timmins ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with a 9.5% wage increase. The agreement also includes a $1,500 retention bonus, up to $250 reimbursement for prescription safety glasses, increased vision-care coverage to $500, increased travel allowance to 64¢/km. (from 55¢), and improved travel qualification provisions. Other improvements include annual increases to the premiums the employer pays toward the cost of the benefits plan, payment for personal protective equipment doubled to 20¢/hr. and paid 2X/yr., and a reduction in the threshold for overtime pay from 10 hrs./day to 8.

Complete Comfort Niagara Inc.

Local 6 members employed by this St. Catharines-based HVAC contractor unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with strong wage increases over the term. It also includes increases to employer contributions to members’ benefits and vacation pay and the union’s training fund.

Direct Electric Corporation

Local 6 members employed by this Hamilton-based electrical contractor unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with a 15% wage increase and $1.50/hr. employer pension plan contribution increase.

Dufferin Concrete (Hamilton) Div of CRH

Local 6 members employed by this Hamilton-based ready-mix supplier ratified a 2-year agreement providing them with wage increases, elimination of the two-tier pay system, improved benefits and pension coverage, increased safety gear allowances and premiums for conveyor drivers, and the addition of loader operators and mechanics into the bargaining unit.

Local 6 members employed by this Hamilton-based contractor unanimously ratified a 1-year agreement providing them with $1.50/hr. total package increase.

Glenile Services

Local 53 members employed by this electrical contractor based in Woodstock unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing licensed electricians with total increases of $8.46 per hour. The settlement also provides improvements to contributions to healthcare benefits, travel compensation, and living-out allowances. Significant is an increase of $1.50/hr. to members’ pension plans over the term of the agreement.

Jim’s Concrete

Local 6 members employed by this ready-mix supplier based in Welland unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with wage increases and increases to the benefits plan.

Millcreek Plumbing & Mechanical Ltd.

Local 53 members employed by this St. Thomas-based mechanical contractor unanimously ratified their first agreement. The 3-year contract establishes a full spectrum of union contract benefits including a significant immediate wage increase followed by determined annual wage adjustments, new healthcare benefits coverage, and employer contributions to the CLAC Pension Plan. Members will fully participate with CLAC-provided programs of health and safety training and apprenticeship registration and support. Other negotiated aspects include improved vacation pay and an hourly tool and safety footwear allowance.

Niacon Limited

Local 6 members employed by this Niagara Falls-based contractor ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with a 10.5% wage increase.

North America Const. (1993) Ltd.

Local 52 members employed by this general contractor based in Morriston ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with total package increases of 11.3% over the term. In addition to wage increases, the agreement provides members with increases to the foreperson and lead-hand premiums, the boot and workwear allowance (to $500 annually), and employer payments toward the cost of the benefits plan.

Ontario Redimix (Hamilton plant)

Local 6 members employed by this ready-mix supplier based in Hamilton unanimously ratified a 5-year agreement providing them with significant wage increases and increases to employer contributions to members’ pension plan. In addition, the benefits vision coverage increases to $500.

Paynel Electrical Contractors Limited

Local 52 members employed by this electrical contractor based in Cookstown unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with a 12.5% wage increase over the term, with nearly half that increase coming immediately. In addition, the agreement includes improvements to vision coverage, out-of-town allowances, mileage rates, and vacation pay for long term employees.

Penalta Group Ltd.

Local 52 members employed by this general contractor based in Oakville unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with a 12.6% total package increase. It also provides 3 paid sick days per year and includes the introduction of the CLAC Vacation Pay Trust.

Percon Construction Inc.

Local 52 members employed by this contractor based in Etobicoke unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with a total increase of more than 9.5% over the term including increases to wages, pension, and vacation pay. The agreement also includes language updates and an increase to daily food allowances and mileage rates.

Pre-Eng Construction Ltd.

Local 52 members employed by this general contractor based in Concord unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with 13.5% wage increases over the term, improved employer contributions to members’ pension plan, and improvements to the boot allowance and paid emergency leave provisions.

RICO Electric Inc.

Local 52 members employed by this Mississauga-based electrical contractor unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with a 14.1% total package increase, including an immediate $3/hr. increase to the journeyperson wage rate. It also provides improvements to bereavement leave, lead-hand and foreperson premiums, the meal allowance when working out-of-town, and the premium pay structure. Additionally, the annual boot allowance will increase by $75.

Rose City Electric Limited

Local 53 members employed by this electrical contractor based in Windsor unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with a 17% wage increase over the term. In addition, employees’ vision-care coverage increases to $500.

Superior Concrete Forming Ltd.

Local 6 members employed by this Hamilton-based ready-mix supplier unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with wage increases and increases to the benefits plan and pension plan.

Synapse Electric Limited

Local 52 members employed by this electrical contractor based in Pickering ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with more than 7% total increase over the term. Members will see improvements to their benefits plan including life insurance, vision coverage, and dental coverage. The agreement also includes language updates, and members will continue to receive 18% in employer-paid pension contributions.

TKEM Electric Limited

Local 52 members employed by this electrical contractor based in Campbellville ratified their first agreement. The 3-year contract provides members with significant wage increases, introduction of the CLAC Pension Plan and benefits plan, new tool and boot allowances, and improved vacation pay and travel provisions.

Trade Tech Mechanical Services Inc.

Local 53 members employed by this St. Thomas-based mechanical contractor unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with a 13% total increase over the term. Included in the settlement are significant increases to wages and improvements to the tool and safety allowance.

Valley Mechanical Inc.

Local 52 members employed by this mechanical contractor based in Mississauga unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with a 9.6% total increase over the term. Their vision coverage will improve, and the advantageous apprentice and foreperson pay structure will continue.

Waltec Electricians Services Ltd.

Local 6 members employed by this electrical contractor based in Bolton ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with wage increases totalling more than 15% over the term. In addition, improvements were made to the boot allowance, travel provisions, bereavement pay, and benefits coverage. The agreement also includes increases to employer contributions to employees’ pension plans.
