Ratifications

Canadian Alliance Terminals Inc.

The 30 Local 501 members employed by Canadian Alliance Terminals voted 87 percent in favour of ratifying a 3-year agreement providing them with a 12% wage increase (4%/yr.). In addition, members received increases to employer RSP/pension contributions, an increase in the protective footwear allowance to $250 every 2 years, improved flexibility in booking vacations, an additional statutory holiday (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation), 5 days paid sick leave and 3 unpaid days, and extension of the afternoon shift premium by 4 hours. The lead-hand premium also increases from $1/hr.r to $1.25.

Interior HomeCare Solutions

The 477 Local 501 members employed by Interior HomeCare Solutions ratified a 2-year agreement with 93% voting in favour. In year 1, the new contract provides wage level increases for all classifications and retroactive pay for all employees to April 1, 2023 (on or before October 16, 2023, payroll). In year 2, members will receive a 2% increase for all classifications plus an additional 1% if the cost-of-living allowance is triggered (Live-In not included). This increase matches the CSSBA/CSSEA collective agreement April 1, 2024, wage increases. In addition, employer contributions to members’ retirement savings were increased 1% and employer-matching contributions were also increased. Increases were also made to employer contributions to the benefits premium and the fuel rate.
