Wages will increase in each year of the agreement totalling 6.5%. Employer contributions to retirement savings will increase to 6.5% over the life of the agreement. In addition, improvements were made to camp and travel provisions, meal allowances, and benefits including additional coverage for apprentices during technical training and quicker access to benefits coverage for new hires. Members working for Penn-co are currently building schools, water treatment plants, police and nursing stations, and other projects around Manitoba and northwestern Ontario. Premier Horticulture Ltd. The 152 members employed by Premier Horticulture ratified a new 6-year agreement contract. After a recommendation from the bargaining committee to decline the initial contract and three days of subsequent bargaining, the membership voted 70 percent in favour of the new terms. The new contract provides multiple improvements, including a 13.5% wage increase over the term, some position reclassifications to higher wage categories, and the introduction of flex days for long-serving workers. Other contract enhancements include improvements to benefits coverage, nearly 35 percent more funds available for safety boot allowance, and increases to retirement contributions.
