Ratifications

CBI Home Health (Penticton)

The 32 members employed by CBI Home Health (Penticton) ratified a 3-year agreement with 95% voting in favour. The contract includes a 3.5% wage increase retroactive to April 1, 2021, and 1.5% increases in years 2 and 3. Care aides will receive a $1.60/hr. premium for assignments requiring the member to be registered by BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry BC and a foot care premium of $3/visit. Members will now be eligible for 5 days bereavement leave with 3 days paid. The agreement also includes training funds for first aid courses to a maximum of $3,000 per contract year, paid sick leave in accordance to seniority, and travel time and travel expenses.

Interior HomeCare Solutions

The over 200 members employed by Interior Homecare Solutions are entering the third year of their agreement, which provided them with significant wage adjustments across the board in year one, a 1.5% wage increase in year two, and 0.5% wage increase in year three as well as 0.5% matching RSP contributions. Increases were negotiated for fuel expenses. Mandatory training is considered time worked and paid at regular rates. Other improvements include a training premium for permanent staff equivalent of 1 hour for job shadowing a junior employee, those double tasking on a shift will receive an additional 4%/hr. on top of their regular rate of pay, and nurses required and directed by management to be on call will receive a $50/weekend shift premium. Sick leave days will be calculated with pay based on hours scheduled and can carry over from year to year up to max 10 days.

Village of McBride

The 12 members employed by the Village of McBride, in northern BC, voted unanimously in favour of a 2-year agreement providing them 2% annual wage increases and several other monetary and nonmonetary gains.
