Local 302 members at this Stoney Creek retirement home ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with wage increases of 5% in the first year, 3.5% in the second year, and 3.5% in the third year. This is well above the current industry standard of around 3%. The employer will now pay 100% of insurance premiums on extended health and wellness, and a new mental health benefit will provide members with an additional $500 per mental health practitioner. Ontario Provincial Police Association (OPPA) Local 304 members employed by the OPPA in Barrie ratified a 5-year agreement that is fair and reasonable, maintains existing entitlements, protects the OPPA’s operational interests, and offers staff terms and conditions of employment that value their contributions to the board and its membership. The contract includes improved postretirement benefits at no cost to employees, provided they meet the applicable criteria and salary adjustments that will continue to be equal to across-the-board increases applicable to OPPA civilian members.
