Pro Pipe Employees Secure Yearly Wage Increases with New Contract

Timmins, ON—Local 52 members employed by Pro Pipe Construction Inc. unanimously ratified a three-year collective agreement providing them with yearly wage increases and other improvements.

The new contract provides the 17 plumbers, pipefitters, welders, and labourers with a 2.5 percent retroactive wage increase across the board in the first year and additional 2 percent wage increases in both the second and third years. The agreement also provides enhanced bereavement leave with pay as well as improved travel and transportation language.

“This is a good agreement for our members,” says Gord O’Coin, regional director in the union’s Sudbury Member Centre. “The union bargaining committee negotiated a settlement that addressed members’ concerns while maintaining their employer’s competitiveness.”

Pro Pipe Construction is a mechanical contractor specializing in municipal water and waste water treatment plants across Ontario and other provinces. The Timmins-based company has been operating since 2002.
