Wednesday, December 11, 2019 Pro Pipe Employees Secure Yearly Wage Increases with New Contract Locals Local 52 Ratifications Sectors Construction Timmins, ON—Local 52 members employed by Pro Pipe Construction Inc. unanimously ratified a three-year collective agreement providing them with yearly wage increases and other improvements. The new contract provides the 17 plumbers, pipefitters, welders, and labourers with a 2.5 percent retroactive wage increase across the board in the first year and additional 2 percent wage increases in both the second and third years. The agreement also provides enhanced bereavement leave with pay as well as improved travel and transportation language. “This is a good agreement for our members,” says Gord O’Coin, regional director in the union’s Sudbury Member Centre. “The union bargaining committee negotiated a settlement that addressed members’ concerns while maintaining their employer’s competitiveness.” Pro Pipe Construction is a mechanical contractor specializing in municipal water and waste water treatment plants across Ontario and other provinces.
