Monday, January 7, 2019 Preventative Maintenance Guide Magazine Locals Local 56 Sectors Transportation and Warehousing Tire repairs, brake repairs, engine diagnosis and repair, transmission diagnosis and repair—and anything else related to trucks or trailers—Local 56 members employed by Ryder Truck Rental Canada Ltd. at its shop in Calgary do it all. The local was certified to represent the employees in July 2018. The members are employed as licensed and apprentice technicians and mechanics, lube technicians, trailer technicians, and tire responsible persons. Five of the employees—Michael Barroga, Jose Cuellar, James Platts, Arunedkar Sharma, and Jody Hansfor—have been there since the shop opened in 2008. The shop is dedicated to maintaining the fleet of H&R Transport Limited, the largest refrigerated intermodal service provider in Canada. The hard-working crew’s preventative maintenance keeps H&R’s trucks on the road delivering goods across Canada and the US.
