Friday, October 4, 2019 Precast Manufacturing Employees Unanimously Ratify First Collective Agreement Ratifications Chepstow, ON—Precast manufacturing employees of Fritz Construction Services Inc., based in Chepstow, voted unanimously in favour of ratifying their first collective agreement. The employees are members of Manufacturing, Transportation, and Allied Workers Union, CLAC Local 519. The three-year agreement provides employees with wage increases of 6.4 percent and pension increases of four percent; which, along with improvements to the health benefits plan and access to CLAC Training, make up for a 13.5 percent increase on their total package. The contract also adds paid sick days, a boot allowance, and three days’ paid leave of absence for the birth or adoption of a child. “The bargaining committee did a fantastic job in negotiations, respectfully yet strongly conveying the needs of the membership—which resulted in a contract that everyone can get behind,” says James Koopman, CLAC representative. “Fritz is in a strong position as precast concrete is a continually growing piece of the construction landscape, and both the employer and the members value the importance of a strong working relationship, along with sharing the benefits of a successful business that they are growing together.” You might be interested in The Human Side of Safety 12 Jun 2026 Ledcor Road Maintenance Workers Secure Wage and Allowance Increases in New Collective Agreement 11 Jun 2026 AI: Healthcare Help, or Headache? 10 Jun 2026 Serving Up Love in the Kitchen 9 Jun 2026
