The new contract provides increases totalling about 13 percent over the three-year term, plus an additional two percent through increased vacation pay for long term employees. “The wage rate is front loaded, which keeps these skilled workers well compensated in this higher inflation environment,” says Robert Brink, CLAC representative. “Travel provisions were also improved substantially.” The labourers build schools and similar buildings throughout southern Ontario.
