Wednesday, July 31, 2024 PPG Employees Unanimously Ratify New Three-Year Contract Locals Local 52 Ratifications Sectors Construction Concord, ON—Local 52 members employed by Platinum Power Group (PPG), based in Concord, Ontario, unanimously ratified a new three-year collective agreement. The settlement provides wage improvements in each year, including an immediate $1.15 per hour increase to the journeyperson rate, maintaining PPG electricians’ industry-leading wage advantage. The new contract also includes significant increases to employer contributions to members’ pension plan and additional and improved coverage to the benefits plan. The annual boot allowance was also increased. “The membership was clear about its priorities,” says Robert Brink, representative. “The bargaining committee was focused on protecting and improving the excellent wage rate and moving the pension contributions in the right direction. They achieved that, setting PPG electricians up well for the next three years.” The 75 Local 52 members employed by PPG perform work in the industrial, commercial, and institutional (ICI) sector across southern Ontario.
