Monday, June 16, 2025 Paynel Electrical Employees Unanimously Ratify New Collective Agreement Local 52 Ratifications Construction COOKSTOWN, ON—The 25 journeyperson and apprentice electricians employed by Paynel Electrical Contractors Limited, an electrical contractor based in Cookstown, Ontario, unanimously ratified a three-year collective agreement providing them with wage increases and other improvements. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52. The union was certified to represent the employees in 2019. The contract provides employees with a 12.5 percent wage increase over the term, with nearly half that increase coming immediately. In addition, the agreement includes improvements to vision coverage, vacation pay for long term employees, out-of-town allowances, and mileage rates. “We’re pleased with the outcome of negotiations for this round of bargaining and with the unanimous endorsement by the membership,” says Robert Brink, CLAC representative. “The new agreement provides for members’ needs while helping their employer retain and attract the skilled workforce it needs.” Paynel Electrical works on industrial and commercial projects throughout Ontario.
