Monday, November 2, 2020 Opening Up Mental Health First Aid Training Newsletters Saskatchewan Local 151 CLAC has launched a national training initiative to provide CLAC stewards and staff mental health first aid training at no cost. The positive feedback has been overwhelming and as such CLAC has decided to allot funding to continue this initiative and open it to anyone who is interested. The Saskatoon Member Centre will be holding another class in the spring of 2021. If you are interested, please call our office at 306-649-2522 to register. You can also email us at sktraining@clac.ca for more information. In the two-day course, students become familiar with the most common mental health illnesses and how to identify signs and symptoms. Students also learn how to help a person until they are given appropriate professional treatment. The course is presented so that students can take away the skills and implement them in a variety of settings.
