Sunday, April 2, 2017 Ontario Construction Local Board Updates Locals Local 6 Local 52 Local 53 Newsletters Local 6 The board met on November 30 and February 8. CLAC’s corporate controller met with the Local 6 treasurer to explain the updated accounting processes. The Local 6 Board is also planning to hold its annual general meeting and golf tournament in June, so please keep an eye out for the notice. We had terrific attendance last year and look forward to another fun round of golf this year. Local 52 The new Cambridge Member Centre has been a wonderful addition to the representation and training services that CLAC offers. It has also been the home of the Mississauga staff while construction on the new Mississauga Member Centre (2555 Meadowpine Blvd.) was being completed. The board will meet in late April in the new centre, and local staff will provide updates on ratified settlements. Local 53 The Local 53 Board meets quarterly. Six members from different workplaces volunteer to serve on the board. As a board, we note that the decade-long trend of growth in the number of workplaces and workers represented has continued—with over 1,100 workers represented by the local. The annual general meeting (AGM) will be held in June, so please watch for more details. At the AGM, members will receive a business report on the local, and will vote to fill two vacant board positions.
