The 73 employees work as RPNs, personal support workers, dietary aides, and housekeeping, laundry, concierge, and maintenance staff. They are represented by Southwestern Ontario Healthcare and Service Workers Union, CLAC Local 303. The union has represented them since 2018. The new contract provides employees with 3.5 percent wage increases each year of the agreement. In addition, employees will also see increases to the pension plan, sick days, shift premiums, and in-lieu-of-benefits premium. Improvements were also made to the vacation grid, new shift giveaway language, and improved call-out language. “The union bargaining committee did an excellent job of determining members’ priorities and achieving them in negotiations with the employer,” say Ryan Griffioen, CLAC representative. “We’re pleased that the membership voted unanimously to endorse the settlement.” You might be interested in Why We Work Safely 5 Jun 2026 Standing Your Ground, and Staying Steady on the Job 4 Jun 2026 CLAC Partners with Alberta Government to Advance Skilled Trades Training and Accelerate Certification 4 Jun 2026 Strathcona Mechanical Workers Ratify New Agreement Providing Wage, Scheduling Improvements 3 Jun 2026
