Northec Construction Workers to See Wages, Pensions Improve with New Contract

Timmins, ON—Members of CLAC Local 52 working at Northec Construction Inc. recently ratified a new three-year collection agreement.

Highlights of the contract include: a 1 percent increase to employer contributions to pensions, bringing it up to 8 percent;  a PPE allowance payout increase to four times per year; wages increases of 1.5, 2 and 2 percent over the three-year agreement.

The bargaining unit has approximately 200 members working in various trades, including equipment operators, mechanics, carpenters, welders, and skilled labourers.

Northec Construction Inc. is based in Timmins, ON and specializes in the execution of medium to large-scale projects in the infrastructure, energy, and mining sectors for both public and private clients.
