Wednesday, August 6, 2025 New Three-Year Contract for Local 152 Members Employed by NAC in Manitoba Local 152 Ratifications Construction WINNIPEG—A strong majority of Local 152 members employed by North America Construction (1993) Ltd. (NAC) voted in favour of ratifying a three-year collective agreement providing them with wage increases and other improvements. The new contract provides members with a 7.5 percent wage increase over the term. An additional two percent contribution to members’ retirement savings over the term will bring the combined employee and employer contributions to 16 percent by the end of the contract. Improvements were also made to the annual safety gear allowance, travel provisions, health insurance coverage, and vacation pay for long-serving members. “Contract negotiations were a great experience,” says Natalie Ellis, an electrician apprentice, steward, and member of the union bargaining committee. “Seeing the construction world from both perspectives—management and labour—was really eye opening.” “The process of negotiating is an art,” adds Christian Hoffmann, a carpenter and also a member of the bargaining committee. “We believe that we, as a team, achieved something that will benefit everyone in the long run. Cheers to three more years!” You might be interested in Standing Your Ground, and Staying Steady on the Job 4 Jun 2026 CLAC Partners with Alberta Government to Advance Skilled Trades Training and Accelerate Certification 4 Jun 2026 Strathcona Mechanical Workers Ratify New Agreement Providing Wage, Scheduling Improvements 3 Jun 2026 Ready to Deliver 3 Jun 2026
