Tuesday, March 21, 2017 New Contract for Registered Nurses in Harriston Ratifications Sectors Healthcare Harriston, ON—On February 17, the registered nurses at Harriston Nursing Home (Caressant Care), ratified a renewal collective agreement. The RNs are members of CLAC Local 304. The agreement includes wage increases of 4.8 percent over three years, as well as increases to the night and weekend premiums, the benefits package, and the sick day entitlement. The contract also includes the introduction of a responsibility premium. "This round of negotiations was a smooth and easy process of working with management from Caressant Care,” says Cindy Reuber, bargaining committee member. “All aspects of concern were listened to and addressed. Our members are very pleased with the negotiated contract and are thankful to CLAC for being a wonderful support by helping us navigate through the process and achieve our goals."
