Tuesday, May 23, 2017 New Contract for Mill Creek Care Centre Employees Ratifications Employees at Mill Creek Care Centre ratified a three-year contract with their union, Health Care and Service Workers Union, CLAC Local 304. The contract included new maternity top up payments, benefit increases, increased weekend premiums, changes to the job posting language, as well as wage improvements. “The membership was very clear that they wanted a change in the system that calculates seniority," says Ruth Ann Ferguson, CLAC Representative. "With this agreement, the old two-tier system, which differentiated between full-time and part-time employees, has been replaced with one system that is based on hours worked." “We are extremely excited to see the dedication that CLAC has shown us throughout negotiations and the ratification process,” says Gwen Grout, who served on the bargaining committee. “We are impressed with the leaps CLAC has made in our collective agreement and we are looking forward to a dedicated relationship that will continue to grow each year. We’re glad we made the decision to meet Ruth Ann and join the CLAC family.” Previous Next You might be interested in The Power of Asking for Help 20 Jul 2026 How to Manage an Insecure Leader 16 Jul 2026 Heat of the Moment 13 Jul 2026 The Power Within Is No Yolk! 13 Jul 2026
