Friday, August 19, 2022 New Contract for Industrial Floor Systems Employees Provides Significant Wage Increases Locals Local 52 Ratifications Sectors Construction Barrie, ON—Employees of Industrial Floor Systems Corp. ratified a three-year collective agreement providing them with significant wage increases and other improvements. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52. The union has represented the employees since June 2019. The 14 employees, who are mainly floor installers, technicians, and operators, will see their wages increase by up to 14 percent by August 2025. The union bargaining committee was also able to secure key additions such as a $2.50 per hour night-shift premium and 2 sick days per calendar year. The contract also includes notable improvements to employer contributions to employees’ retirement savings in the CLAC Pension Plan as well as improvements to the CLAC Vacation Pay Trust. “With such a unique industry, the bargaining committee found creative ways to allocate their increases to the areas that will be of most benefit to the group,” says Randy Parris, CLAC representative. “Today’s economic climate created challenges we had to navigate, but we were able to secure increases that the membership needed.” Industrial Floor Systems Corp. specializes in high-quality flooring systems in the commercial and industrial market throughout Canada.
