Tuesday, April 24, 2018 New Contract Brings Wage Increase to Midland's Volunteer Firefighters Local 920 Ratifications Midland, ON—The Town of Midland and its volunteer firefighters have negotiated a new three-year contract. The volunteers voted overwhelmingly in favour of the collective agreement, which is effective from January 1, 2018 through to December 31, 2020. The settlement provides wage increases of over five percent during the three-year term, improved access to career firefighter vacancies, improved access to training, and better opportunities to attain monetary benchmarks for attendance. “We are pleased with the outcome and the ratification result confirms that the volunteers are as well. We appreciated the cooperation and professionalism with which the negotiations were conducted with by the Town,” says J.D.
