New Contract Brings Wage Boost for Workers at Shamrock Mechanical Solutions

Lucan, ON—Members of Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 53, working for Shamrock Mechanical Solutions Inc. voted 86 percent in favour of a new collective agreement.

The three-year contract secures wage increases totalling $6 per hour for journeypersons as well as improvements to the retirement package and a substantial increase to the tool and boot allowance.

The company and union also agreed to a new premium for HVAC specialists and a boost in vacation pay after 10 years of service.

“The members of Shamrock Mechanical Solutions have bargained a fair increase on top of a strong agreement,” says Marco Mueller, CLAC representative. “The employer came to the negotiating table ready to work together with the union, securing a strong majority in ratification.”

Based in Lucan, Ontario, Shamrock Mechanical Solutions is an HVAC and sheet metal contractor serving London and southwestern Ontario. CLAC has represented its employees since 2018.
